Boeing 747

A great video on the production of the Boeing 777 Model Airplanes for Air Canada. Shows from wing construction, to fuselage construction and piecing together to painting. Interesting to note that this Boeing employee said the painting of model aircraft is top secret.

Vegan's destroying forests?

From Vegan.com

Here’s a silly but widely-read news piece blaming deforestation onâ€"of all peopleâ€"people who avoid meat. The piece was published today in a free newspaper handed out to thousands of Vancouver, BC commuters. It claims: More and more people are choosing to consume less meat, a decision that has led to an increase in demand for soy, the main ingredient used in making tofu (a staple of the vegetarian diet). Soy covers some 11 million hectares of forest across South America. You know who’s eating nearly all these soybeans? Farmed animals. The Encyclopedia Britannica states that 98 percent of America’s soy production is fed to farmed animals. So, really, it’s meat eaters who are driving soy-related deforestation, and yet it’s the people avoiding meat who this article chooses to blame.

Condo Leases

I was reading Wikipedia and I read that "To become licensed, most states require that an applicant [broker] take a minimum number of classes before taking the state licensing exam. Such education is often provided by real estate brokerages as a means to finding new agents.". I wish thye were forced to take class in cusomter service. I have had only bad experiences with brokers and when I am next looking for Eastwood Condos, I hope that Lease Wizards is able to live up to their repupation of being great brokers.

A350 vs B787

If you saw the statistics for Airbus latest model planes, the A350 XWB (eXtra Wide Body) passenger airplane, you would probably confuse it with the American rival, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. It will probably take the flying public years to be able to distinguish the aircraft in the air, or even when they are inside the cabin.

The Boeing 787 is made from 50 per cent carbon fiber; while the Airbus A350 is 53 per cent carbon fiber. Both will be long range and can fly in excess of 8,000 miles without refueling. In effect, flying the long thin routes. Being somewhat bigger, the A350 will have anywhere between 300-400 seats, while the Boeing 787's biggest model will barely reach 300 seats. Both come in three different size models although the smaller version of the 787 may be dropped based on comments from Boeing.

Airbus indicates the A350 will reduce fuel consumption by 25 per cent. The Airbus is bundled as a replacement for any Boeing 747 operator due to it's size. The Boeing 787 claims to deliver 15 per cent better fuel efficiency over the similarly-sized Boeing 767 and so it should, considering it is introduced 25 years after the Boeing 767.

The Airbus A350 has 505 orders from 32 customers while the Boeing 787 has 876 orders from 53 customers.

The A350 windows are wider; the 787's are taller. The list continues.

When comparing the two airplanes, there are major differences between the two.

The A350 cockpit is one area that will distinguish it as a more modern model planes. The cockpit will have six large LCD displays that provide all the necessary pilot information. For comparison the A380 has 10. The A380 has been the testing bed for this new technology. These electronics in the cockpit have been found to reduce the need for the many individual circuit breakers. The circuit breakers have in the past been an issue for airliners and caused various accidents.

A huge difference between the two is that the A350 is still in the design phase, the Boeing 787 is right now in flight testing. The first A350 will not leave Airbus' new Toulouse, France final assembly plant until approximately 2011. Airbus has previously announced that the new aircraft will enter service in 2013, but if Airbus have learnt from the A380, and more recently the 787, they will probably add two years to that timetable. It has already been rumored that the A350 timeline has already slipped.

Boeing recently announced another delay in the 787, and the first delivery to ANA will occur in first quarter of 2011.

The market of airplane design, and the size of the aircraft, shows that the airplanes will be somewhat similar. Both manufacturers have further emphasized that will they may seem similar, the real difference between products is the customer experience inside. With the new Boeing 787, the inside has been a revolution, while Airbus released it first A380 interiors with showers and bars. Both companies have had different objectives of late: Airbus designed the huge and less successful A380 while Boeing betted their business on the more modest 787 and a small change to the 747, with the 747-8.

As earlier mentioned the largest A350 will carry 100 more passengers than its rival. Boeing's designed the 787 to sit between the 737 and the 747-8 Intercontinental, a new model of the world's first Jumbo Jet. The 747-8 has been re-engined and relaunched as a new airplane model.

Initial indications show that the A350 is a lot more expensive then its rival, the Boeing 787. Considering the size, this is a matter of economies of scale. The most expensive is the biggest, the A380. The A350 has list price at $225-$285 million; while the Boeing 787 at $150-$205 million, makes the 787 a sale item. From these list prices, airline negotiation normally drops the price below list price. Based on the numbers it seems to clearly favor Boeing unless the A350 turns out to be very economical for it's size.

When an airline purchase an aircraft in the hundreds of millions of dollars, and looking at a highly sophisticated modern machines, it isn't just a head-on comparison of price performance. Sometimes it involves years of talking between the aircraft manufacturer and the airline, which includes courtships and politics. Based on the fact that the 787 is in the air, and has a solid order book, the A350 has a long journey ahead of it to reach the same level of success.

While the Boeing 787 might be ahead, once the A350 hits the skies with paying passengers, the true test of competition will be held. We will have to wait several more years before the Airbus A350 defeats the Boeing 787 and both are commonplace in our skies.

Electricians

Electricians install and maintain all of the electrical and power systems for our homes, businesses, and factories. They install and maintain the wiring and control equipment through which electricity flows. They also install and maintain electrical equipment and machines in factories and a wide range of other businesses.

Electricians generally focus on either construction or maintenance, although many do both. Electricians specializing in construction primarily install wiring systems into factories, businesses, and new homes. Electricians specializing in maintenance fix and upgrade existing electrical systems and repair electrical equipment. All electricians must follow State and local building codes and the National Electrical Code when performing their work. Tiger Electrical does exactly that. Providing the best Electricians Brisbane

Boeing 787

When they designed the Boeing 787, the company started on a clean sheet of paper, But one thing to be maintained: Boeing last a new jetliner, the 777, had to be re designed to a widebody aircraft. From the characteristics to the checklist to and emergency procedures, Boeing start from 777 operating system and build from there. While the system architecture of the 787 is fundamentally different from the 777, the legacy of the larger long range twin is evident.

The model airplanes are designed to be more efficient and cost effective to operate than similar size models, in order to accommodate with the lower cost optional requirements of airlines nowadays. The dreamliner is also the first airliner to use a composite material on the majority of its build.

B787’s enterprise:

The B787’s initial was to be more efficient aircraft with enhanced technology, which would bring down its costumers operation costs. This was crucial decision rescuing Boeing credibility fro two major abandoned project since 2000.

Key features of Boeing 787 that was intended to achieve improve efficiency (compare to same-size aircraft)

* 20% more fuel efficient
* costs 30% less in maintenance
* extract 35% less power with its innovative architectural structures
* 50% composite materials (carbon fiber reinforced plastic) â€" a recyclable, plastic materials and requires less maintance
* smaller in size but can travel at the same speed as a B747
* generates 10% better cash seats mile cost to airlines
* generates 60% more cargo capacity.

B787’s Exterior

Two major features of the B787 are the engines and the composite material used in substitution of the conventional aircraft building material.

* Engines:

The engines are specially designed by General Electric and Rolls-Royce to increase efficiency. Customers can choose between the two engines shall their operational requirements change as the interface of the two engines are standard; which increases the flexibility for customers. There are also engine nacelles which feature serrated edges that reduce noise produced by the engines.

* Fuselage:

Up to 50% of the model airplanes are made up of composite materials which are made by carbon fibre reinforce plastic- a recyclable material that had never been used on an aircraft before. The concept of this material was to be able to reduce the weight of the aircraft, hence increasing efficiency and lessening the need for maintenance. As suggested by Boeing, this new material will enable the aircraft to reduce the use of 1,500 aluminium sheets and 40,000-50,000 fasteners.

Other airlines that have ordered the 787 include:

Delta

Air NZ

Virgin Atlantic

Qatar

Etihad

Japan Airlines
